VMO Holdings Signs Agreement on Semiconductor Human Resources Training

On May 4, 2024, VMO Holdings, along with Phenikaa Semiconductor Training Center, Arizona State University (USA), Chang Gung University (Taiwan), Synopsys, SiCADA, among others, successfully joined in with the signing of memorandum of understanding (MoU) on expanding semiconductor training activities and prepare the workforce in Vietnam and other developing countries.


The signing ceremony was within the framework of the International Conference “Vietnam's Semiconductor Workforce in Global Supply Chain”, organized by Phenikaa University in collaboration with Synopsys Corporation and the University of Arizona (USA). Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam Tran Hong Ha, Minister of Information and Communication Nguyen Manh Hung, Representatives of central and local departments and ministries, Experts and Organizations operating in the semiconductor industry attended the conference.
Addressing the conference, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized the importance of the semiconductor industry in Vietnam's Semiconductor Industry National Strategy, which is to establish Vietnam as a global workforce hub for semiconductors. The government is also developing a plan for the workforce in the semiconductor industry with the goal of training 50,000 engineers by 2030 to meet the industry's demands.
Contributing to the shared goal of training semiconductor workforce, Mr Mai The Hung, CBDO VMO America, Head of IC Design Services, VMO Holdings, shared: "VMO aims to increase recruitment demand by 100 employees by 2024 and plans to recruit 1000 chip design personnel by 2030 to contribute to the development of the semiconductor industry in Vietnam."
Through the agreements, VMO Holdings and related parties shared a common goal of leveraging synergies in the semiconductor industry, concurrently expanding semiconductor training activities and preparing the workforce in Vietnam and other developing countries.
The signing ceremony opened up opportunities for cooperation between VMO and reputable partners in the field of semiconductors, and at the same time created a premise for the strong development of the semiconductor industry in Vietnam in the future.
