On August 15 2024, The U.S. Department of State, U.S. Embassy Hanoi and partners: VMO Holdings Technology JSC, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), and New Energy Nexus Vietnam, are proud to host the Vietnam Climate Tech Investment Platform Networking Event. The event  brings together a dynamic ecosystem of 100 climate startups, investors, and industry experts to accelerate the growth of Vietnam’s climate tech sector. The event aims to bridge the gap between innovative startups and the capital they need to thrive.

As one of the countries most vulnerable to climate change, Vietnam has a critical role to play in developing and deploying climate solutions. The event shall provide a platform for Vietnamese climate tech startups to showcase their innovative ideas and connect with potential investors. With a growing global market for climate technologies and Vietnam’s burgeoning startup scene, this event shall as well mark a significant step forward in tapping into the country’s climate tech potential.

The Vietnam Climate Tech Investment Platform Networking Event will foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and investment opportunities within the climate tech community. By creating a vibrant ecosystem, the event contributes to Vietnam’s transition to a low-carbon economy and its resilience to climate impacts.

The event is a significant milestone as the first Coalition for Climate Entrepreneurship Hub (CCE Hub) in Asia and the second in the world - currently operated by VMO and PTIT in Vietnam. CCE Hub is a public-private partnership designed to catalyze climate innovation in developing economies by nurturing emerging and market-viable climate solutions. The U.S. Department of State works together with CCE partners including academia, accelerators, investors, nonprofits, and corporations to support climate-focused startups and bolster sustainable investment to confront climate change and advance economic security. 

The Office of Global Partnerships in the U.S. Department of State officially announce ongoing collaboration with VMO Holdings and New Energy Nexus at the upcoming event, focusing on implementing Coalition for Climate Entrepreneurship (CCE) programs in Vietnam. As part of this initiative, New Energy Nexus and the U.S. Department of State have pledged a joint investment of $450,000 over the next two years. This investment aims to develop CCE programs that will support climate technology innovators across Southeast Asia and facilitate the introduction of their solutions to the market.

CCE Hub Vietnam underscores the U.S. commitment to assisting Vietnam with both finance and advanced climate technology to fulfill its international climate commitments as outlined in the Joint Statement between our two leaders following the elevation of relations to a U.S. – Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, launched during President Biden’s historic visit to Hanoi. CCE Hub Vietnam is located at the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), in collaboration with the U.S. Department of State and VMO Holdings, and was officially inaugurated in September 2023.
